Candis Marshall is a Bahamian artist, writer, and eco-art entrepreneur living in Nassau. She has been a professional mixed media artist for over ten years who mainly creates works of photography, and constructs functional art using discarded tyres and other materials collected from around the islands. She is known for her tyre furniture, wearable works of tyre art, and her nature photography that centers sound native flora and fauna with a keen focus on the banana herb.
On the surface, Marshall uses her work to educate and inform others about the importance of environmental sustainability and to offer possible community solutions to local environmental issues. This has been her mission for more than a decade. However, at the core of her artistic process, she endeavours to relay a deeper message of spiritual connectivity. A message fueled by her interest in the complexity of the human experience.
